Jungle Kayaking in Costa Rica: Days 2 and 3


10-Day Itinerary:

Day 1:
 Arrive in San Jose.
Day 2:
 Tortuguero rain forest kayaking.
Day 3:
 Tortuguero rain forest kayaking and exploring Tortuguero.
Day 4:
 Transfer from Tortuguero. Launch on the Pacuare River.
Day 5:
 Horseback riding in the Pacuare Canyon.
Day 6:
 Canopy tour and hiking.
Day 7:
 Pacuare River rafting to take-out, transfer to Fortuna.
Day 8:
 Safari tour, hanging bridges, natural hot springs.
Day 9:
 Morning hike to Arenal Volcano. Transfer back to San Jose.
Day 10:
 Depart San Jose.

DAY 2

The adventure begins with private transportation to breakfast, dropping off over-night bags, and then a drive to the river.

On the water expect to see lots of wildlife; including a chance for crocodiles, monkeys, and a huge variety of different birds. Lunch is served while on the water. This is your first day of the trip and paddling through the calm waters surrounded by beautiful country is the perfect way to relax after a long flight the previous day.

A motor boat will meet us at the confluence and load up the kayaks. You will be shuttled to the Mawamba lodge, your residence for two nights.

DAY 3

After a fresh breakfast (you'll grow to love the pineapple here), our kayaking will continue into the Tortuguero National Park. Caimen, monkeys, and iguanas are common sights within the National Park. People, however, aren't.

After a morning paddle, lunch will be back at Mawamba the remainder of the afternoon is left to explore the town of Tortuguero, the coast, or relax at the pool.
