Visiting the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica: Day 9


10-Day Itinerary:

Day 1:
 Arrive in San Jose.
Day 2:
 Tortuguero rain forest kayaking.
Day 3:
 Tortuguero rain forest kayaking and exploring Tortuguero.
Day 4:
 Transfer from Tortuguero. Launch on the Pacuare River.
Day 5:
 Horseback riding in the Pacuare Canyon.
Day 6:
 Canopy tour and hiking.
Day 7:
 Pacuare River rafting to take-out, transfer to Fortuna.
Day 8:
 Safari tour, hanging bridges, natural hot springs.
Day 9:
 Morning hike to Arenal Volcano. Transfer back to San Jose.
Day 10:
 Depart San Jose.

DAY 9

After another fabulous night at Mountain Paradise and a hearty breakfast, we'll head to the Arenal Volcano to take a short hike towards the base of the volcano. We'll pass old magma flows and see evidence of eruptions as we make our way through primary growth and reach the edge of the volcano.

This is the last segment of our Costa Rica trip. Upon returning to our shuttle, we eat lunch and then begin the drive back to San Jose. We will have a "parting" dinner and try to relive the previous nine days.
