Top of the line and high quality equipment
The morning of your trip we will give you a large waterproof dry bag for your overnight gear. You will be given a smaller dry bag for items you may need throughout the day. When we arrive at our camp it will be set-up with our camp kitchen, tents, chairs, and tables. The tents we use are four-person Alps, which are very roomy and comfortable. Sleeping pads that we provide are the famous Jack’s Plastic Paco Pad, which are thick and comfortable. Our mummy sleeping bags are freshly laundered and will keep you warm on a chilly night. Our river kitchen has the same features you would find at most home kitchens. Dishwashing stations, two four-burner stoves, and large coolers make up the basics, and you will be surprised by the amazing meals that can be cooked riverside.
Equipment used on the river is maintained before, during, and after each trip. At the end of each season we do a detailed assessment of our boats and paddling accessories. Large, 16-foot rafts are used as oar boats and carry the majority of our gear from camp to camp. We use smaller rafts for paddle boats and also provide tandem and solo inflatable kayaks for those feeling adventurous. Helmets (which are not required except for in a kayak) and lifejackets (always required) are kept in the best shape and are always clean.
From rescue ropes to our first aid kit, when it comes to safety we don’t cut corners. We carry with us a comprehensive first-aid kit and are one of the few Rogue River outfitters that carries a satellite phone. Each raft is equipped with a rescue throw bag and guides are trained in wilderness first aid, CPR and swiftwater rescue.
